October 27, 2013 - Pancake Breakfast at Cumberland, Maryland

Bruce B. and I were looking for somewhere to fly to this Sunday morning. I saw EAA Chapter 426 was having its monthly pancake breakfast at Cumberland Regional Airport. Perfect. Not too close, but not too far. Have not been there in four years.

We battled headwinds on the transit to Cumberland, but it was still a nice flight. You can really see how much bigger my RV-7 is compared to Bruce's RV-3.

| Cumberland Regional is a good-sized airport. The pancake breakfast was in the EAA Chapter hangar building at the right side of the picture. |

| I saw this same Wittman Tailwind four years ago. |

| Just after takeoff, climbing out. We had commitments at home so we climbed high to go fast. |

| We wove our way through the broken layer heading east. Once on top a strong tailwind helped us make over 200 mph groundspeed. I think it was the first time Bruce has experienced that kind of speed in his RV-3. |

| Of course, we had to descend below 1,500 feet to stay under the BWI Class B airspace as we crossed Baltimore. |
